Your pet has provided you with great enjoyment and unconditional love. If you die or become disabled, who will take care of your pet? How will they be compensated?
As part of your estate plan, we can set up a trust which will reimburse a friend or loved one for the care and treatment of your pet. You can appoint a Trustee and designate a caregiver for your pet. You can establish a standard of care, require daily walks, ensure that they remain house pets, get veterinary care, eat a special diet and specify a plan for final disposition of your pet.
Generally a trust is established with a specific sum of money to pay for the care of you pet. The trustee, who you designate, supervised the caretaker to ensure that the terms of your trust are being fulfilled. Upon the death of your pet the money will revert to your estate any be distributed according to your wishes.
